Resource Educators Wanted at Pajala Municipality

Pajala Municipality is the large (in area) small municipality located in the land of the Northern Lights and the Midnight Sun – Tornedalen, in eastern Norrbotten. Pajala Municipality is looking for three resource educators to work at Tärendö Central School F-6, Smedskolan F-3, and Pajala Central School 4-6.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide individual support to students in their daily school life. The support can be pedagogical, physical, psychological, social, and emotional in nature.
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to adapt teaching to students' needs.
• Communicate and collaborate with guardians regarding the student's school situation and interests.
• Create and maintain a safe and structured environment for the students.
• Participate in planning and implementing activities that promote students' social and emotional development.
• Document and follow up on students' progress and needs.
• Substitute for other staff in their absence.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with children and adolescents with neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF) is desirable.
• Education in pedagogy, special education, or similar is an advantage.
• Good ability to collaborate and communicate with both students, guardians, and colleagues.
• Patience, attentiveness, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Personal suitability is very important.

A high school diploma is required. The person offered the position must provide an extract from the register kept under the Act (1998:620) on criminal records, as required by the Education Act (2010:800).

Fixed-term employment is applicable for the position at Smedskolan F-3.
